Did you know that many gastropods can create a pearl, including terrestrial snails? The difference is nacre which is only found in some species of mollusks and which which gives pearls their beautiful shine. Terrestrial snails occasionally produce very small translucent white pearls which are usually lost. One non-nacre secreting sea snail, the melo melo, produces gorgeous pearls that are extremely prized and rare.

Conches can also produce pearls.

Paua (also called abalone) can make pearls as well- though they are only half-pearls (called mabel pearls)

I’m SO excited to finally get to show you the cover for The Adventure Zone: Story and Song graphic novel! The book will be out on July 14, 2026, and It’s available for preorder now!

Because it’s a double-length book that combines the last two arcs, we got to do a back cover to make it a full wraparound, too:

I was so excited to come up with a back cover that featured the Stolen Century crew! And here’s the full wraparound all together, which was SO much fun to design:

The actual spine is substantially thicker than this, lol.

I’m so, so proud of what we all made! I can’t believe the last book in the series will be out in just 8 months! I’m really excited to get to talk about it more soon.
